Easy Char Siu Fried Rice (Chinese BBQ Pork Fried Rice)

This Char Siu Fried Rice is a breeze to prepare and takes less than 20 minutes. It's my go-to recipe whenever I have leftover Char Siu Pork. Try it out, and you'll fall in love with it just as I have.

Ingredients

  • 3 cup day old cooked rice (or refrigerated)
  • ½ tbsp cooking oil (to mix with rice)
  • 1 cup diced char siu pork (0.5 icnh / 1 cm chunks)
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup cooked green beans
  • ½ bulb onion (diced)
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 scallion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (to your taste)
  • ½ tbsp dark soy sauce (to your taste)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions

  • Combine soy sauce and dark soy sauce in a small bowl. Mix the cooked rice with cooking oil.
  • In a pan, warm up some cooking oil and sauté the onion and garlic until they become aromatic. Then, toss in the pork, beans, and carrots, and stir-fry over high heat for 1-2 minutes
  • Incorporate the rice into the pan and drizzle the sauce over the mixture. Stir-fry vigorously over high heat.
  • Push everything to one side of the pan. Pour in the beaten egg and gently scramble it. Stir everything together until the rice becomes dry and crispy. Finally, season with soy sauce and sesame oil one last time.
