Vietnamese Milk Tea Recipe (Trà Sữa)

Vietnamese Milk Tea (Trà Sữa) combines bold black, oolong, or jasmine tea with creamy condensed milk for a refreshing, café-style drink. Served over ice, it’s the perfect balance of strong tea and sweet creaminess—easy to make at home with just a few ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp loose tea (black, oolong, or jasmine) (about 15 g, or 1 sachet)
  • 2 cups whole milk (500ml)
  • 4 tbsp sweetened condensed milk (60g)
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (30g)

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, gently heat the milk and sugar over medium heat until steaming (do not boil).
  • Add the tea leaves or sachets, cover, and steep for about 15 minutes.
  • Remove tea bags or strain out the leaves. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk while still warm.
  • Let the milk tea cool completely, then serve over ice.
